Simplify 101 Workshop Give-Away!

It's give-away time!

My friend Aby of Simplify 101 has a new online workshop coming up next Tuesday, January 5th, and you have a chance to win a spot!

This workshop is called How to Achieve Your Goals and Create a Life You Love. It's taught by Aby herself who is a professional organizer and co-author of The Organized & Inspired Scrapbooker, which btw still is an all time favorite book of mine.

Whether you routinely set goals and love the process, or goals are a new and possibly uncomfortable concept for you, if you want to make change in your home and life this year, this workshop is for you, Aby says.

The Goals workshop will give you the foundation, ideas and inspiration you need to dream about a life you love, and take steps to make it happen!

In this 4 lesson/8 week workshop  you will…

Learn how to dream and free yourself from anything that’s holding you back from dreaming big.

Learn how to turn your dreams into goals.  Find out how to create an effective goal statement for all the key areas of your life—from career to family and everything in between. Plus, learn how to make your goal statements super compelling so you can’t help but take action on them!

Learn how to make it happen! Find out how to turn your goals into simple action steps and begin taking action on your goals during the workshop. With the support and encouragement of your instructor and the workshop’s online community, you’ll be well on your way to creating a life you love before the workshop is over.

Learn how to track your progress and celebrate your achievements. Monitoring your progress and celebrating your victories are keys to making goal-setting and accomplishment a habitual part of your life.

Aby only runs this workshop once a year and as I said this year’s session begins next Tuesday.

One lucky winner gets in on this once-a-year opportunity!

I've taken Aby's classes a couple of times now and besides from learning it's also great fun and you meet a whole lot of lovely people in the virtual classroom and forum.

To enter the draw let us know via a comment why you need this workshop. The winner will be drawn at random on Sunday afternoon my time and announced on Monday.

  • Nora says:

I would love to take this class because after 7 kids who are almost all gone I need to find something for myself….

  • Robin says:

I have a list a mile long of ‘possible resolutions’ on my mental To Do list. This sounds like a perfect class!

  • I reckon I’ve got the dreaming bit down, I just don’t know how to follow those dreams through to making them a reality!

  • Anna says:

I´m planning to end my studies this spring and will start looking for jobs. Since I no longer will have any school work to be done I´ll need to set my own goals.
So a workshop in how to get the best out of my life and my time sounds like a great idea!
    Happy new year! /Anna

  • hana says:

I would actually like this class not for myself but a friend who I think would really benefit from a class like this. She seems to be stuck in a rut and although she wants to get out it, I think a little help would really push her towards the right direction.

  • yvonne says:

I’m searching for a life in which I am excited to wake up in the mornings.

  • kelly says:

I’ve been looking at this workshop and hemming and hawing about enrolling…
I need this workshop because my job is really wearing on me and I think there’s something bigger and better out there for me, but I just can’t seem to get a grip on it. Perhaps this class could help me? The description offers such hope!

  • nina says:

I would love this class because in a few year’s time I want to be a happy mom to my kids, and not a mom who’s still stuck in a life she doesn’t feel like hers.
    Wow.. so dramatic!

  • Dana says:

Looking around right now, the house is a bit of a mess, and in life as is in some ways we just do the one-day-is-the-same-as-the-next type of thing – no goals (except a very dreamlike one thinking that it sure would be nice to be organized like you are :). I would like to do a lot of things, but get a bit overwhelmed, and end up doing nothing at all. This would be a great class to get a focus. Wishing you a happy new year!

  • Cindy says:

I need this class for two reasons:
    1. I think I am pretty good with the planning part. It’s the follow-thru I struggle with.
    2. I think for the most part, I am good with organization. I struggle with getting my better half to learn to let go of his “Stuff”.

  • sissel says:

år 2010 kan bli ett drömår. men hur? jo, kanske genom att ta denna klass och utmana mig själv. tack för möjligheten att vinna. gott nytt år!

  • Cathy A. says:

Ooh! I love Aby’s workshops. I could really use this. My husband and I have hit some kind of wall. We talk about “goals” and I feel like “yes! let’s move forward” then we’re busy with our kids and daily tasks only to find out another year has passed. We want to move forward but we just can’t seem to keep things in motion. I was just telling him last night that I feel like we are a couple of bumper cars… just bumping along randomly – it’s a fun ride at times but without any direction. I think part of the problems is we have so many things we’d like/need to do that we’re a bit overwhelmed. It feels like we put out a lot of daily fires but don’t move any closer where we really want to be. I hope that made sense.

  • Tara Furnas says:

My husband and I gave been trying to simplify the past few months and could really use some help. We can’t seem to do it all on our own.

  • Messy says:

I feel stuck in a few areas in life. Maybe a bit less realism and a bit more dreaming would help?
And I’m curious about the online workshop thing! So I’m crossing fingers, toes and eyes that I win this. 😉

  • With a blog name like “Messy” what more can I write. This would be the perfect start to the new year!

  • Shantell says:

    wow what a great giveaway!!
i need to do this course because while i dream big i often have trouble following it all through
    happy new year

  • I would love to win this… I NEED to make myself more organised. We are hoping to move this year – most likely downsizing and we don’t want to continue to live in the chaos that we are at the moment.

  • Ana says:

My life´s been crazy for the past two years: too many things going on, which doesn´t mean “too many good things going on”. ;P I feel stuck in some areas and doesn´t know how to deal with it. So, looks like this workshop is perfect righ now! 😀
And… hope everybody has a wonderful new years eve!!!

  • Hej,
Having moved from London to Sweden in the middle of the forest…this has been a massive lifestyle change…trying to simplify everything…this has not been easy. I feel like the bag lady lol!!! So many bags with paper n clutter not to mention boxes of our lives. I think a course like this would give us some grounding and bring some order into our lives!
    Hjelp Mig!!

  • Nina says:

I would love to take this workshop!
I have been thinking about taking it since I read about it on Aby’s blog!

  • Kari G says:

I’ve been sick for two years, but I am now in the process of recovery. Everything around me has been chaotic and I feel overwhelmed by what to start with. Such a class would have been great for me now. I’m ready to start a new life, but do not know where to start. So a workshop in how to get the best out of my life and my time sounds like a great idea!
    Kari G

  • jane says:

This is exactly what I need. I’d love to partipate in a class like this. Your blog has been such an inspiration for my day to day life. Thank you for making me a more organised and happier person, actually both me and my boyfriend. All the best in 2010!!!

  • Franziska says:

why I need that workshop? Shall I send you a photo of my place here? 😉
It became better because of using some Benita magic but it can really really be optimized around here. So that’s why I need that workshop. To find a way to organization and simplification.

  • cheryl martin says:

I would love to participate in this online workshop. Follow through can be a challenge for me at times and I could use some top notch instruction in this area as well as organization in general. Here’s to a great 2010… may we all enjoy the lives we want.

  • says:

I would love to take this workshop to better help myself get started on my goal of writing a book and help others I know reach there potential.

  • Alicia says:

I love to start a project but most of them are never finished, so I want to learn how to focus and see if I can finally bring to life an idea that has been on my mind for some time…

  • Patricia says:

Hello Benita, I’m not entering for the giveaway, but I’d just like to wish you and your family a very Happy New Year. I adore reading your blog; I find the words useful and inspiring and the photos are quite lovely. All the best for 2010!

  • Tangelia says:

I would love to work on my goals to help transition through a difficult time for me now.

  • Karen says:

I just need help. I have piles of projects and paperwork that seem endless…

  • Steffi says:

I need all the help I can get. Working, raising my kid (and 25 kids in my classroom) and trying to be creative calls for a new structure.
    Please pick me!

  • Mi says:

Organizinig is one of my passions. I’d love a chance to get Aby’s help with goal setting and prioritizing.
    All the best,

  • Miss VanDroo says:

What fun to have help setting goals and having help along the way! We sure could use a bit of that around here!!

    Happy New Year!

  • Sandra says:

I have a lot more imagination than I can handle… and keep finding that I don’t have the means (organization, setting specific goals…) to really accomplish a task. I always start a task and in the process “link” it with dozens of others and get lost in the process. I know this has to do with me being a bit hyperactive but would love to start the new year in a less stressing mode.
My best wishes for you and your family in the coming year!

  • Mary says:

I have a New Year’s resolution to say “Yes” to opportunities to enhance my life. Learning to turn dreams to goals to actions – this workshop drawing is clearly one of those opportunities. Thanks, Benita, and Happy New Year to everyone!

  • Sara says:

Dear Miracle Girl: I need it because I want to be just like you! xo

  • Ann De Bono says:

I have some decisions to make around my career, education and home and would love to take this course to encourage me to focus!
Thanks for the opportunity Aby and Benita!

  • Boncuk says:

I need this workshop because it could not be a better time for me.I have a lovely 2.5 years old daughter, married to a wonderful husband. I had to leave my country and moved to the UK because of getting married.Trying to have a life here, started all over the beginning which includes even taking the driving test second time in the UK although I have mine!I`ve my qualifications to be a teacher back home but not valid here so I`ve started my studies as well…And the only thing I do not have is time.I need help to organise my life and my loved ones.Since I am the `mother` of the house,I need encouragment or a course like yours to kick myself from the back.Kind of guidance because nobody knows what it is like to start a new life and its difficulties.I do not want to make the same mistakes again or miss my oppurtunities to make my dreams come true.

  • Amy says:

I need a course like this! My youngest has just gone off to school and I am not keen to go back to my former teaching career. I need a new life plan.

  • Nicole Grove says:

I need this course because I’m not short on the dreams part…I always dream big about how my life and house can be simplified, I just dont have the know-how!

  • Karen says:

I love my life. I have been so blessed with a wonderful family, home, and career. But I am about to turn 50 and I feel as if I could be achieving sooooo much more. I want the second half of my life to be even better than the first half (which will be a tough act to follow), and I think a workshop like this would be just the ticket!

  • Jill says:

As a mother of two ADD kiddos, and yes, I suffer too, this class sounds scary and exciting all at once. It’s a constant struggle to stay on top of things here and at at the office. I fail repeatedly, but never give up!

  • Tera says:

I need this workshop because I believe 2010 is going to be my best year yet… and I want to make sure that dream comes true.

  • Robin says:

Three kids (ranging from grade 1 through middle school), career (in transition), much-loved house (in progress) and one 37-year old woman who lacks direction, organization, but who does not lack ideas or inspiration = ideal candidate for a bit of “schooling” on the subject

  • Stacie says:

I would love to take this workshop because I need something that I enjoy doing. I know what I want to do- I do have a dream- but I don’t know how to make it happen, some direction and goals would be amazing!

  • Malena says:

Besides the clutter in my house, I feel that there’s a lot of “mental” clutter in my little ADD brain (which the physical clutter doesn’t help). Too often what I’m doing is reactive vs proactive. This could be the start of changing that.

  • Lisa Z says:

I totally need this workshop! After twelve years of being a mom, now that the kids are growing older, I am having the hardest time figuring out what to do with myself. I have many interests, but lack follow-through, and have a hard time taking the time and space I need to do things for myself. I would love to have someone help me with goal-setting and follow-through so this workshop sounds amazing!

  • Önskar dig ett hejdundrande gott nytt år! 🙂
    Stor kram

  • Gracia says:

Last week I blogged about “Loving my life” being my #1 resolution for 2010, so I think this would be perfect!

  • Cheryl says:

One of my goals this year is to get myself and my family (cat and dog included) in shape! I’ve fallen short of goals before but this one is just too important. I need Aby’s professional help!

  • jessica says:

I’d love to take this class because I spend my entire life worrying about everyone else. Really. I’m a high school English teacher, so all of my waking time is spent planning, preparing, and grading for 110 high school students. When I get home, on top of work for my students, I have my boyfriend and his daughter to take care of, too.
I’m turning 30 this year, and I’d really like to be able to set a goal completely for myself, AND actually follow through on it. I just don’t know if I know how to do that!

  • Danielle says:

I need this session because I am working towards starting a business and could use all the motivation to keep going and organizational help I can get!
    – Danielle

  • samantha says:

My 2 goals for the new year are to start an online business and declutter/simplify my life so I can focus on the business. I am in the process of writing the business plan. But getting from the concept to the reality is the hard part. And as for decluttering/ simplifying – its an uphill battle with my beloved, supportive (but pack rat) of a husband and our a 14 month old daughter at home. I’d love some support in organizing this process.

  • Rebecca says:

I’d actually love to win this for my mom. She’s at a bit of a crossroads in her career and I think this would help her figure out what she really wants and how to go after it.
    Happy New Year!

  • Christy says:

I would love to take this workshop! I am feeling very energized by the new year but would love a little direction and encouragement along the way. I think I have some good ideas about how I’d like to organize our home but having the push would be wonderful.

  • Peggy says:

Oh, wow, do I ever need to win this class give away. Why? Because I just turned 60 and if I don’t hurry up and learn how to create the life I love, it’ll never happen for me! lol

  • Kristin says:

I have been wanting to take this workshop for a while now, I love Aby’s blog!!! I have a baby on the way in 3 months and would love that little boost and inspiration to get the rest of my house organized before she joins the family!!

  • Emily says:

I could benefit from a workshop like this because I feel like some of the “stuff” is getting in the way of living, planning, moving forward. My to do list sometimes feels so overwhelming that it enters into my dreams – lots of dreams of being behind, rushing to catch up. I need to set goals so I can feel like I’m accomplishing something – not just checking an item off some arbitrary list.

  • ratita says:

oh, i’d love this one. i lost my job of 12 years earlier this year. although i was shocked, i decided to use the opportunity for transformation and for finally getting to the heart of what it is i want to do… 6 months later, i’m still muddling through ideas and having a difficult time getting started with my projects.

  • Nolwenn says:

I definitely need this workshop! My home and my head are a clutter, I am currently working full time and studying, and we are building a house in which we’re supposed to move in 3 months. It all wears me out, I am always busy with stuff I don’t even know who or what I do it for (probably partly for me but it always feel like chores). I changed jobs in my company a few months ago but still don’t know if it’s “the One” for me. I started again to study to give me better chances to find the perfect job and the perfect life, but still have no idea what to do when I am done. I really need to sort out what I want, get organised and create a life I really love 🙂

  • Stephanie says:

I am all about dreaming and never about follow-through. I would like some help in learning to do both parts of the equation better.
    Happy New Year!

  • Charlene says:

I am six months pregnant with twins! It’s my first pregnancy, and I need all the organizing help I can get.

  • lisa h. says:

My life is somewhat in disarray and I’m not sure where to start to make things begin to happen for myself. Also, I’m unemployed, so I am not in a position to pay for something like this at the moment!

  • Sarah says:

I need this workshop because I’ve become lax in my unemployment. I need a boost!

  • Kristi says:

i have never had a goal which i really feel that i’ve accomplished well
it would be great to feel that

  • katey says:

I love to take this class because I m stay at home with my two deaf children…I just dont know how to start open workshop, because I would like to workshop for deaf things. next year my children will go to school and I dont know what to do by myself at home…I would like to have something goal. I never have goal for myself but it time for me to find my goal is craft, sewing and etc..

  • Jennifer says:

I love your site Ms Larsson! I’ve been a longtime reader, but this is my first time commenting. It’s terrible that it take a contest to get me to do it!
I’m a homeschooling mother of five who’s been through some amazing life transitions this year. I feel like I’ve lost myself and yet found myself. I really need to learn to plan, set, and achieve goals, rather than just rattling around in my life. This workshop sounds awesome.

  • emily says:

i’d love to be able to put my dreams into words!

  • Malin Price says:

Struggeling with my husbands illness this year has brought us back to square one! A new year and also decade is coming up and I want to make the most of it.

  • Lynn says:

Thanks for this chance! I’ve been unemployed for most of 2009 and need a kick-start to organize my time, space and things better in 2010. I start many projects and have a hard time completing some of them.
Happy New Year to you and your family! I really enjoy your blog.

  • Jill says:

I have a mile long To Do list and with little kids and two of them starting school…I need help! We are organizing our home office for the first time since building our house and this class couldn’t come at a better time!

  • amanda says:

I need this workshop because I have a dream, a goal, or even a “secret desire”, if you will, to do something amazing that I can’t quite wrap my head around. People like me; thirty-something moms-of-four don’t just up and do this amazing thing overnight. I’ve been told I have the skill, I’ve been encouraged and pushed by all kinds of people, but the little doubter in my head keeps telling me it’s a pipe dream. This opportunity just may shush her up once and for all.

  • jen says:

i need a class like this to be able to move forward… i’m at a place in life, knee deep in house and small children and responsibilities, that i’ve forgotten how to dream and how to put dreams/goals into action. i often feel stuck. i would love to do this, not only for myself, but for my family as well.

  • Débora says:

I’m going through a tough moment in my life right now and I could really use some help to set some goals.
Your blog is great, thanks so much for inspiring us.
    A big hug from Argentina.-

  • that sounds awesome! hope you have a wonderful and happy new year!
xo katherine aka. urban flea 🙂

  • peggy says:

Hello, I need this class as 2009 was a year of illness for me followed by a layoff. Since my layoff I have been unable to get off the couch. It’s disgraceful that a middle-aged woman such as myself has no idea what to do with her life. I only know what I don’t want, and that’s another soul-deadening corporate job. I am utterly lost and in need of help. Thanks for listening.

  • Laurie says:

I can’t begin to tell you how desperately I need this workshop… I work all the time (if I could do 24/7 without needing sleep, i would. not because I want to, but because I just can’t get away from it.) Not to mention the house I moved into 8 months ago, the half-finished renovations and the hundreds of boxes still to be unpacked. *sigh*.

  • Brenda says:

I have alot going on in my life. I am working on getting organized (thanks to Aby’s workshops) I could sure use some help in the goals dept.

  • Wendy says:

I need this workshop because I dream of owning my own business but haven’t been able to turn my dream into reality yet!!

  • Kris says:

I need this course to help me re-focus my life. since moving to Hungary five years ago, I feel I have been wondering around without any goals…

  • Monnah says:

I just took Aby’s “Get organized for the Holidays”-class and experienced what a great tutor she is! I’d love to get the same great organizing results in my everyday life, so this class would be perfect for me (and my family).

  • Evelien says:

Hi Benita! A happy and healthy new year for you and your family!
For 2010 I have made several resolutions:
Eat and live healthy, hold my tummy in at all times ;-), spend lots of time with family and friends, get our family out of depts, have a tidy house and most of all enjoy my life.
So you see, I could do with Aby’s workshop….
    Love, Evelien

  • Nanda15 says:

I would love this course to help me take my decluttering to the next level. I am still learning, but it is difficult with 3 kids, husband, a home and full time work. I turn 39 this year..and I would love love love to finally be able to get the next chapter of my life, which is letting me manage ‘stuff’ instead of it managing me 🙁

  • Joana says:

I’d like to take this class because I have 3 kids and an uninspiring career (more like a job) outside of my home. I’d love to start my home-based business. I need to set goals and learn how to make it a priority (I always leave anything related to that for my “free time” which is almost never so nothing really takes off). I also suspect fear of failure plays a part on not making it a priority and I need to work on that.

  • Nina B says:

I would love to get the inspiration this workshop could give me.
    Godt Nytt År!

  • elzi says:

I’d love to win, because there is so much to do in everyday life (special need son attending a new school, new house to renovate and decorate, new garden, new job…) I almost have forgotten what my dreams are.

  • Lisa says:

I’m still working on last years resolutions. In fact, many are 2007 resolutions, need I say more?

  • Carrie says:

This homeschooling mom needs more time and less stuff!

  • emma says:

Because after one year unemployed my life is a mess !!!!

  • Lisa says:

    ETA-my above post
“I’m still working on last years resolutions. In fact, many are 2007 resolutions, need I say more?”
Should give a clue to my disorganization, I meant 2008 vs 2007.

  • Karin says:

Wow, this sounds like a wonderful workshop! I think the reason I need it is that I still find goals and plans frightening… Maybe this fun class could help change that… 🙂
    Gott nytt år!

  • judith b. says:

    Dear Benita,
First of all, a huge thank you for being the daily, dedicated, inspiring and focused woman that you are. I have only reorganized our medicine cabinet with little white Muji tubs à la Benita so far, but even that has made such an amazing change and created a simple system that is usable and understandable by all concerned that I, too, long for you and Abby to rub off on me. I need to attack all (some of ?) the things that I should be doing, but that get lost in the shuffle, year after year, partly out of a weird fear to move forward, and the need to quench daily ‘fires’, as someone above so aptly put it.
I need to get that fire under ME and would love to have Abby as my coach! Thanks for letting us vent…and dream!
Congratulations on your 500th post and all the best to you and yours in 2010!

  • Abbe says:

This sounds fantastic! I need it because, though very creative, I am not good at setting goals and tracking them to completion. I usually go the ‘fly by the seat of my pants’ route. 🙂

  • bashtree says:

I need this workshop because I am STUCK and I need help!!

  • Christi says:

I’ve always been good at the dreaming part but not the “goal” part. I’m getting older but still feel like so much is within my reach but I just need better tools! 2010 just seems like the perfect blank slate to pull out all the resources and dive in to making those dreams a reality.

  • Liz says:

I have so many things I’d love to do if only I could figure out how to turn the dreams into reality. I think it would be so helpful to take this class.

  • Frau Mayer says:

After having to concentrate on one thing (the last phase of my education) for so long I’d love to have something to feel the taste of life again…

  • Shannon says:

I would love to take this class because 2009 has been a crazy year for me! I moved out of my parent’s house, got married and had a baby! I love my new life, but I feel like I don’t get much time to myself. My passion is art, but I have barely had no time to do any of it this year. This class would help me get back on track with my art and start taking some time for myself. Fingers crossed!

  • Rebecca says:

Being made redundant this time last year (and a month before baby boy no.2 was due) kind of knocked me for six. I am just about to start looking for a new job/career and this class could be just the stepping stone I need to a fabulous new year ahead!

  • Jen says:

I need this class because I am hopelessly disorganized and it’s getting worse as I’m getting older. Like the above poster, I’m a teacher and I spend all day at school working with kids and when I get home I’m too drained to do much of anything. My resolution is to start changing that, little by little.
Thanks for this great give-away and thanks for an amazing blog which I love to read!

  • Minnie says:

I am just now working on my goals for the coming year and would love to have a roadmap on how to achieve them. I would like to learn how to balance better my need to live a creatively fulfilling life with being a stay-at-home mom to two young kids under the age of five and wife to a wonderful man who often works for long stretches of time without time off. I tend to be too ambitious and have too many projects up in the air. I love Aby’s blog and yours for the real-world inspiration I need to maintain organized.

  • Janine says:

This sounds like a great program! Focus and perserverance are my drivers for 2010. What a great way to kick off the year!
    Here’s to crossing my fingers!

  • laura says:

I would love to take this workshop as it seems like it would be uplifting and very helpful. I teach preschoolers with autism and also work in early intervention in the inner city. You sometimes you get bogged down with all the problems of day to day goings on. This workshop would definitely be something positive to work with.Thank you

  • Jeannine says:

I am dealing with medical issues and need to get my life organized to handle whatever 2010 brings me.

  • Karen says:

I want to be able to dream big and set goals for myself, like I did in my 20s. I have a young family and I just feel stuck!

  • hi benita – happy new year! i really need this course as i need help in realising my all time dream of starting up my own design business.

  • says:

I would love to take this class as I have until May 23rd to complete endless projects around the house with 4 kids creating new ones all the time.In May we have two daughters making their first holy communion and a family gathering at our house, arghh.

  • mollysusie says:

every year for the past several years, my new years resolution is to get my life in order … better job (or maybe an actual career!), declutter, pay off debt, start a house fund, buy a car, the list goes on and on. and I never get any closer, having a plan and support would be really helpful.

I’d love to take this class- I am wanting to get serious with my photography but I am not sure how to do that.

I’m still trying to figure out all of my goals in this life, esp. since I plan to start a family later this year. I think this workshop might really help me! Happy New Year, B. and family!
