I decided it was time to freshen up the bottom of my broom closet. The paint was chipped and stained.
Found a scrap of oil cloth which I stapled to the shelf and bottom. Quick fix. No waiting for paint to dry. Wipes clean so much easier now.
Underneath the shelf I keep some cleaning supplies, silver polish, furniture polish etc. This works for us but if you have small children these should obviously not be kept at this level. There's also a roll of heavy duty lint free paper towels for cleaning glass, polishing etc.
My vacuum cleaner attachments, bags and filters are also kept down there in a box. The box slides out like a drawer. Underneath are felt furniture glides to prevent the metal box from scratching the oil cloth.
I love how clean it all looks now. The bucket I use outside filled with soapy water to clean our deck furniture. It's great because its just the right size for the small space in front of the metal box.
