I've been meaning all summer long to update all the addresses in my address book and haven't gotten around to it until recently.
This is what it used to look like inside the previous one which We'd had for years. Crossed out addresses and generally confusing with no longer working phone numbers thrown into the mix.
I started out with a black Moleskin copy and rewrote all the addresses (sorry, I couldn't find a real one the day I wanted it. Have seen them since but couldn't face rewriting everything again...). Laid it out on the back of the fabric I chose and cut around it leaving about 2 cm (3/4") on all sides.
I used permanent spray glue to stick it to the book. Be sure to spray outdoors or in a well ventilated area because this is not something you want to inhale.
While the glue was still sticky I cut notches at the spine up and down and tuck those bits in.
I then cut off the corners, Don't cut all the way in though or you'll end up with a black spot.
I used a glue stick to glue the overhanging fabric to the inside of the book pulling it a bit to get it taught and folding the last bit in before "closing" the corner.
To finish the inside off I used vintage graph paper cut to size and rounded the corners off with a corner punch. I also added a white ribbon as a book mark. Simply removed the black one that was there before and inserted a white in its's place with a drop of glue at the end of it.
Most of the addresses are written, using a pencil this time. I've learned my lesson. Occasionally when I get a cute address label off an envelope I save it and add it as it is, like this cute bubbly one from Lindzi.
Some pretty business card go in there too, like this one fom One Punk Posy, one of my favourite artists. I use dot stickers to attach the cards.
How do you save addresses? I considered a lot of different options but ended up doing the address book thing again...
