It's been raining all day today so I finally finished the stool for my sewing nook (which I'm sure you are all sooooooooooo sick of by now). Today I'll just show you the before and after and tomorrow I'll post the how-to. The photo above though is of the Alessi Dozi paper clip holder which Wille insisted I buy at the Moma store to use as a pin holder. It's so cute and I love the color.
So here's the before. Martin found it in a dumpster at work and it's been in the garage for about a year until I could think of somewhere to use it.

I ordered some fun japanese fabrics on Etsy from Sweetflavor but ended up using a green gingham from Åhléns.
Tadaaa! My lovely stool sporting a comfy cushion. As the work top is at weird height due to the pipes running underneath it works really well. I just swivel it too the right height and zoom away at my sewing machine!
Have a great evening!

It's lovely! And Willie had a stroke of genius using that as a pin holder! Very creative!

Benita,
I never get tired of your projects, as your project-thinking is so much more advanced than mine! I also struggle with completing projects, so it's nice to see you actually do that. Thanks for your continuous inspiration, I read you everyday!!!

It appears as if there is a lot of light in the sewing area but that could be your camera's flash. (All of the photos of your house have wonderful light in them, BTW, which is just one of the reasons they're so appealing!) Is there a lot of light in the sewing area - either natural or artificial? You haven't shown us nearby windows or overhead lights, which is why it's a mystery!

After reading the interview about you on Creative Construction I visited Husmusen's blog, who has posted photos from Formex. I remember you saying that you were going to Formex right before you left for NYC. Did you take photos? Was it inspirational?

Thank you so much for your comments, they mean a lot to me.
Jean, I never use a flash when taking photos. I used to years ago but realised the huge difference when I didn't so I stopped. There is only a small window in the sewing nook room. It's the same as this one http://www.flickr.com/photos/chezlarsson/2206527776/in/set-72157603439433970/ and one small milky white globe over head light.
The basement is kind of dark so I make sure to shoot my photos during the day. I don't use a tripod. And I do lighten them a tiny bit afterwards using a super basic feature in Windows Photo Gallery. Later on I'll probably do it in Photoshop but this works for me now. I guess all the white paint helps keeping it light :)
I'm sorry, I didn't take photos at Formex. I have to say it's no the most inspirational fair there is but it's the major one for the Swedish market and I need to go there for work as my gift wrap suppliers are exhibiting there. I do think I would look at it differerntly if I was going there for my own personal purposes though as there's a lot to see but when I go I just fokus on work.
