Happy New Year Everyone!

I want to take this opportunity to thank you all for visiting me and my family via Chez Larsson and I'd also like to say thanks for all your comments and e-mails. I love to hear from you!

Can't quite belive it's only been a little over seven months since I started blogging and I've loved every minute of it and your feedback is largely why its been so much fun.

Next time you hear from me it's 2009! Yay!

Painting

Today I painted. Lost quite a few brain cells too in the process. Very smelly, that floor paint. Then I painted some more. And a little bit more. And I painted again. Again. And some more.

Did I mention I painted today?

Oh, for those of you who want to join the disco downstairs, feel free. I left the radio on sitting on a shelf and now I can't get to it to turn it off because the floor is painted. A very Donald Duck moment.

Official Messy Day

 

I proclaim December 29 to be Official Messy Day. At least here in my home. OMG! You should see the place. It's a tip!

So as not to scare you off completetly I'm showing a pretty photo at the top. Besides from being Messy Day it was also wonderful weather wise which I only noticed because I had to go into town to get more paint and supplies. I did sneak a couple of minutes in the garden with my camera as I got home.

 

Other than those few minutes and the necessary trip to get more paint I've been spending the day in the basement. I've done quite a few things in the boatroom already and still have one more thing downstairs before I quit for tonight. I'm writing this while I'm waiting for the floor and trim to dry after sanding it, vacuuming and cleaning it. I still need to caulk some gaps before painting tomorrow.

 

In order to be as efficient as possible I'm doing a few things sort of simultanously. As stuff dries downstairs I've reorganized Wille's Expedit and am currently tiding his "cabinet de stuff". Will do a bit of sorting in front of the TV later tonight.

Boy, there's stuff everywhere. AND I'm not even showing you the dishes that have not been done in the kitchen, the duvets drying in the dining area, the unmade (no duvets) beds, the unhung load of laundry and the absolutely filthy downstairs bathroom. Yuck. Double yuck!

I have crossed out the tasks I've completely finished on my list so if you want you can have a peak.

Current To-Do List

Martin and Wille left on the train to Skåne at five am this morning and after getting up at four with them I fell asleep on the sofa in front of "Jon & Kate +8". It's been a Jon & Kate marathon on one of the channels today and in between doing my stuff I've been watching. How do they do it?! I love that show!

These next few days on my own are all about catching up. There's so much I want to get done and so many things I need to get done.

Here's the list of what I hope to have finished by the time Martin and Wille get back on New Year's Eve.

• Pay the bills (must be done Monday latest)

• Reorganize Wille's Expedit bookcase (with his consent)

• Organize Wille's "stuff" closet (when in doubt will double check over the phone)

• Get some cushions and pillows sewn

• Take in some jeans

• Wallpaper boatroom walls

• Paint boatroom ceiling and walls

• Paint boatroom trim and floor

• Reorganize my Amazon shop

• Prepare a guest blog post

• Start on my first Blurb book alternatively a book Martin can print (after all he works in printing)

• Launder all the duvets

• Paint some trim upstairs (hoping the cats wont get into the paint)

• Paint sofa table base (would love to repaint the dining table top too but daren't because of Mini & Bonus)

• Start removing holiday decorations (can't get rid of the tree yet although I'd love to...)

• Tidy the storage room and garage

I hope you all had a great Christmas Eve or Day depending on which one you celebrated. For those of you who didn't celebrate at all, I hope you had a nice couple of days all the same. 

 

This year for the first year, Martin, Wille, Mini and Bonus and I celebrated by ourselves. My mom who isn't into Christmas much decided to stay in the south of Sweden and Martin and Wille will be going to see my mother in law tomorrow and stay there for a few days.

 

Our Christmas Eve was really nice. A mini Christmas dinner spread of salmon, pickled herring, some cheese and not much more than that. After that loads of gifts for Wille and a couple for Martin and myself. Perfect!

Yesterday was spent in front of the TV, computer and in the basement where I'm prepping the boatroom for new wallpaper and paint.
