Why are things never straightforward when it comes to me?
Before Christmas Swedish blog Husmusen featured an advent calendar with one design item to win per day. Out of 24 items up for grabs I entered the draw twice and would you believe it won once!
I had to enter when Isa Form offered the winner the choice of one of her prints and her stuff is so cute and fun! When I won (Tack Isa och Frida!) I immediately chose my favourite Klädlinan/Laundry and Isa allowed me to choose the colors myself. So cool to be able to do that! I went for dusty pastels which go well with the pale green doors downstairs in the basement where the laundry room is and where the print is going.
The print arrived last week, I bought a white frame for it and took it downstairs to try it out. Suddenly my white laundry room didn't look very white anymore. I saw all the flaws, scuff marks and not entirely white paint (it has been quite a few years since I painted it last).
There was some left over paint from the boatroom next door and I thought it would be a quick fix to repaint the walls. Then I noticed the ceiling... Let me start by telling you it's not a smooth ceiling. All the pipes from upstairs are up there and go criss cross all over and the ceiling itself is built in a sort of grid with boards and battens. It took me all of Saturday to put ONE coat on. Half of Sunday to do the second coat and to clean and put everything back again.
Today Monday I'm both very pleased with myself, my lovely print and the laundry room. Happy days!
