Here, we don´t decorate easter tree nor easter eggs. Easter is more related with religion. There are parades and mess.
We also have 5 days of holiday.

It is a pitty not to have to think to decorate...really recycling and colorful tree. Good job.

now that is just plain seriously adorable.

Dear Miracle Girl: How do you think of these great looking things? You are so talented!! How did you cut out the triangles?

BENITA ~ CHEZ LARSSON

Sara, I cut strips of paper and started by cutting a diagonal across the strip. Then I alternated the diagonal to the left and right which instantly gave me the little triangles.

There's something missing. I think it's a feline.

jag är inte mycket för påsk så......... men det kan hända att jag tar in lite kvistar bara för att jag är sugen på vår :)

I've never heard of an Easter tree before. Is this a Scandinavian tradition? A European one?

Erin

We do have an Easter Tree for the first time this year. I love how you've decorated yours. I had a heck of a time trying to find the right kind of branches. I wanted some that splayed out a bit to allow for dangling ornaments but the ones I found are huge. Still, I like how it turned out...it is a work in progress. I hung it with purchased sparkly eggs and then made some ornaments using those little fluffy chicks -- some are in nests with flowers and spanish moss and some are nestled in paper mache "eggs" (although I couldn't find egg shapes and so went with a ball and cut out a hole in which the birds can sit) I painted the eggs in springy colors, speckle painted them to look kind of like eggs, lined the hole with spanish moss and decorated them with small millinary flowers. I also wanted to make some origami flowers, but haven't really gotten around to it. I am not sure I want to put any more on the tree right now.

Erin :)

I love these posts. The simplicity and the colors! I found a tiny empty birds' nest on the ground yesterday...I think I must do an Easter tree of my own.

Here in Princeton we have an Easter tree. We have always found some branches of forsythia or pussywillow. I put them in water and we hang blown-out eggs from them that we've dyed. Some years we go to the Hungarian deli and buy some pysanky eggs (beautifully dyed eggs done with wax resist) and hang them too. When I was a kid my mom would also do the same, but sometimes use a tree branch that we painted white. We're Norwegian but I don't think that was the source since my mother is of Scottish descent. At any rate- Happy Spring and Happy Easter everyone!

Mary

I decorated my grandmother's Easter tree when I was visiting her last week in Minnesota. She has a bunch of pussy willow branches in a large vase. I hung vintage Danish egg and rabbit ornaments all over the branches. So cute!

Angie

We don't really do easter trees in mexico, it's more religious, like Ibabe said.
But HEY! ANY excuse is good to decorate a tree with cute paper and stuff, right? Maybe I should start a tradition... :)
i LOOOOVE your houseeeeeee.

Easter Gifts

Is this tree same like the christmas tree. Ohh please dont start this trend on easter. Trees are enough for christmas.

Franziska

yes, I have some branches in the house. I cut them off the forsythia in the garden. Meanwhile it's blooming. I have little eggs out of glass in them. Really looks cute.

Your branches look nice!

Karola

I kind of like my "tree" togeher with daffodils....supernice :)
