The last couple of weekends I've been preparing the outdoor areas around our house for spring and since intend for us to do a little bit more barbecuing than last year I decided a little nice kit would make things more enjoyable.
Enter the badly taped metal box above. As I mentioned the other day I get these boxes at work because no one can see the potential in them but me. They are a bit of a nightmare to get clean but it's worth it. This is not just a case of peeling off tape unfortunately. This is really poor quality packing tape so when you peel it off you get a clear strip in your hand and all the brown sticky adhesive is still on the box. I use a special glue solvent to remove this and it needs to be done outside or in a well ventilated area. I tried the blow dryer trick on it first (the idea is that the heat of the dryer will help loosen the tape) but unfortunately that didn't work.
After all the glue was finally gone I gathered all the BBQ stuff and placed it inside the box and...
... hid it away behind the new skirt I made. Ready to be found and used on a summer's night.
Mini was helpful as always. She made sure I removed the recipe book I had stuck in the box. She said I'd probably want the book in the kitchen after all. I always listen to Mini's advice.

These past few days have brought lovely weather and I rode my bike to work yesterday for the first time this season. I made it all the way there and back ( 8+8 km) without getting off once. I remember last April, I ended up walking up the hilly parts for at least a week and after seven months of not riding my bike I thought I'd be back at square one, but that wasn't so. Yay!
