I love odd-jobs-around-the-house-days, when little things that have been bugging me finally get done.
Like this extremely annoying thing. For the past month or so our faucet in the little upstairs bathroom has been misbehaving. Every time you turned it on water squirted out in at least a couple of directions.
Enter the little yellow center fella from the local DIY store and good bye to the old gunky red center one. The new little end thingy (have absolutely no idea what they are in English) cost $3.50! There were two slightly different ones to choose from so make sure you either bring your old one and compare or do, like I do, hope for the best and be lucky... Simply unscrew the old one (well, not so simply actually as ours had been sitting on the faucet since forever and was kind of stuck so it took a bit of female force to remove it) and screw on the new.
Et voilà! Parfait!
Now I just wish I could change those horrid handles too and believe me I've tried. I got silver ones, same ones as I got for the kitchen, which look like they would fit because they look exactly the same but it turns out they were the wrong brand and looked different inside. Argggh! I wish I could get the correct vintage (looking) ones (same design still being produced) but they are so expensive. Maybe one day.
