Remember that Wille got a guitar for his 15th birthday? Well, it's been on the floor in his room since, propped up against the bookshelf and every time I've gone in there to vacuum I've been worried about knocking it over. No more. I finally got a device to hang it on. Ehem, yes, those are my nobbly knees in the shot.
Why are these things so ugly? The best one I could find on the internet was this wooden one with black holder. Luckily I had saved a jar of left over paint from when I repainted Wille's room a few years ago so I decided to paint the wooden part and the plastic tube too.
To avoid having the holder stick to the newspaper when I painted it I hammered four nails into the back of the holder.
First coat down, one more to go. Keeping the paint brush bristles in cling film while I wait for the paint to dry on the holder.
After the second coat I mounted the holder on the wall and inserted the padded metall bit that actually holds the guitar. I really like the result and I think Wille will think it's great when he arrives back home tomorrow night.
