Oh boy, what a week this has been. Luckily I had some posts lined up or I would have been in trouble posting wise. I know I haven't been the most creative blogger out there this week with two give-away related posts, a hair cut, a reader request and a 365 but that's all I could muster up this week.
I can't really say why this week was a tough one but I guess it partly has to do with being cooped up in the office at work, sun finally shining outside and being frustrated. I want to move. I'd like a new big project (read fixer upper house). I want to spend less time in an office and more time doing what I love etc, etc. It's the same old rant. Enough whining already! I'm sure that after the snow has melted and the days get longer I'll be just fine.
Ok, we are officially the softest people around. Remember how I said that we wouldn't feed the roe deer in our garden a couple of weeks ago? Well, ehem, we are feeding them after all... I read an article in the newspaper a couple of days after which stated that the does are on their last fat reserves right now after an extreme winter and if they don't find food many will perish. Neither of us can stand animals suffering so the three of us agreed we would feed them until they can find food again.
Martin got our local grocery store to donate their left over, past sell-by-date bread, veggies and fruit. We still don't want them in our garden so Martin and Wille bring the food into the wooded area behind. Bambi & co are now feasting on whole grain bread and assorted goodies such as lettuce, broccoli, potatoes, apples and bananas.
There's still way more snow than I would like but little by little it is melting away. I give it a helping hand every night by chipping some ice bit's off the decking and sweeping so that Mini and Bonus can have access to some non frozen ground again.
Random everyday shot. I guess that's what this project is about. Not recording the highlights in life but also the everyday mundane. I'm in the process of scanning all our old negatives (the slides are done already) and the shots I'm most excited about are actually those that never made it into the albums, the ones where you can see the diaper package from when Wille was a baby or the milk carton from my own childhood. Dishes 2010, exciting huh? They might be one day.
What would I do without flowers? I think I'd suffocate without my cheap but not nasty grocery store bouquets. I always have fresh flowers somewhere in the house. I'm not big on house plants but fresh flowers are a must. As soon as I can I pick them in my own garden.
I couldn't post a 365 without some evidence of Mini and/or Bonus. With the weather looking better Bonus goes outside more and more but Mini still loves her spot on the dresser. At night she keeps me company in bed and she always says good morning when I get up. Such a sweetie.
Thursday nights are to me what Friday nights are for most people I guess. A glass of wine and my "subway book" taken out of the bag. Hopefully I will get a chance to read more this weekend. On that note, which are your favorite crime novel authors? At the moment I'm reading Stephen Booth, The Kill Call, but I always end up at the library and not remembering any authors names or book titles so I'd love to hear about your faves and then I'll make a list and put it on my bag for next time. Thanks!
Have a great weekend, and I'll see you again on Monday!
