The house is decorated for the holidays! This year I’ve again kept it very simple but still with that Christmas feel I love so much. String lights, paper stars, white and greenery. And here’s what I’ll be listening to when I ‘ll light that first candle on Sunday. We’re not religious at all, but it’s a nice tradition and count down to Christmas.

On Saturday Sanna and I went to the Christmas market in Gamla Stan and after a nice stroll went back to her place for dinner. I brought my camera and snapped away while there.
Both Sanna and Sebastian love growing their own herbs and spices. both in the courtyard below the apartment and in the kitchen.
But most of all they love collecting. Avidly. The scour the auction houses and car boot sales on weekends and have some awesome finds.

And this 1960’s image of a mother and her baby which is one os Sanna's favorites and she's created a cute arrangement of matching objects around it in the bedroom.
I love this vintage bon-bon tin. Sanna does too, so much so that she has two!
In the living room she keeps her ever growing collection of all things turquoise & co.
Many of the finds are from Småland where she and her family spend summer holidays going to auctions, estate sales and flea markets.
Sanna likes all things vintage as you can tell so when she happens to come across a magazine from 1969 with her mom on the cover she picks that up too:).
I’ve said it before. An eighteen year old doesn’t NEED an advent calendar. But I still wanted to make him one. Last year’s was such a success with scratch tickets so I repeated it this year. He didn’t win a whole lot but the calendar still lasted all the way until Easter with small wins, new tickets etc. Fun!
This year, I used the alphabet stamp set to stamp 1-24 on little envelopes and added a few stickers to the front of an old refrigerator ware container.
Fingers crossed Wille gets rich this year!
I showed you this photo from my 365 project back in June and answered a comment on if Wille likes his Wake-up Light. He loves it. In fact he swears by it. It gets him up on time at 6.30 on school days and he feels well rested. As I’m leaving for work I hear his alarm go off which isn’t really an alarm at all but more of the happy melody of his choice AND with a glorious sunrise.
My alarm buzzes at 5 am with an awful squealing noise and I hit the snooze button AT LEAST twice before getting up and since I hate getting up in the dark I turn on the bedside lamps while snoozing which makes everything super bright all at once. Not the best waking up experience and I hardly ever feel well rested.
So when I was approached by Philips to try out the new Wake-up Light I was SO game. I was on the verge of buying one like Wille has anyway (it was on his Christmas wish list last year and bought by his grandma) but have been putting it off because it’s quite a large piece of equipment. The new version of the light is much more compact and I was excited to try it out.
There are three versions of the light and I was very pleasantly surprised when I opened the box and realized they had sent me the one that’s operated via an iPhone app! Aside from waking me up to my choice of sounds or the music of my choice I can also use it as a speaker for my iPhone during the day and it charges my phone when it’s docked. So cool!
I did a couple of day time test runs immediately to try it out and it’s really awesome. The light starts out red and goes brighter and brighter until the alarm goes off easing you into waking up. The iPhone app version even has a sleep routine tracker which I also can’t wait to try out. I’ll try and remember to do a follow up post on what it’s been like after using it for a while!
Philips are conducting a 30-day “experiment” at the moment where a test subject (poor guy, I hope he’s well paid) is subjected to various uncomfortable ways of being woken up in order to determine the best way (I think the Scottish bag piper and Officer and Gentleman are pretty funny). Mini and Bonus like to sit on (and walk all over) my desk which means I constantly have to wipe it so my mouse doesn’t get a sandy path.
I love little surprises. I ordered something at a place and this little green (perfect!) dino came along with my order.

When available both Wille and I love sunflower seed sprouts. So crispy and not at all bitter like some sprouts can be. The best way to keep them is in a bowl of water in the fridge.
Sanna and I went to the Christmas Market in Gamla Stan again. We both decided that someday we WILL live there in one of those narrow cobbled streets. And I think Anne’s game too!
Lazy Sunday morning reading magazines, watching TV and doing push-ups during the commercial breaks.
That was week 47. Only five more to go!
