The week started off cool and crisp with some frost and by Thursday there was a snowstorm heading up from the south of Sweden towards us. On Friday it got really cold and snowy and on Saturday Sanna and I went to the Skansen Christmas market, but more on that later this week!
Sun, sun, sun, here it comes! Ah-mazing sunny but cold weather. I’ve been on my power walks over the weekend and while the weather’s been absolutely beautiful it’s been freezing.
The string lights are now up outside but I’ve been a good girl and haven’t done any advent decorating inside yet. I’m usually ahead of the game but this year I want to wait until next weekend. For one it doesn’t feel very wintery or advent-y yet and also it’s kind of nice when it all goes up at the same time in the neighborhood.
First signs that the holidays are around the corner, an amaryllis and a hyacinth. I love them at this bud stage, much more than when they’re in bloom actually. Considering the warm weather we’ve had over the weekend you wouldn’t know advent is approaching in just a couple of weeks. The sun was shining and I raked the last of the leaves bare feet in my Birkenstocks without a jacket on. The holiday lights are going up later today too as it does get dark really early now. Sun rises at 7.50 am and sets at 3.20 pm.
With only a few weeks until Advent 1st when we start decorating our houses for the holidays over here, I took inventory of my lights. No need to buy any this year! Diesel makes regular appearances at our house and still doesn’t understand why Bonus can go through the chip flap and he can’t. He’s too cute, the other day Wille found him outside the balcony flap on the second floor. He’d climbed up the awning.
On Saturday night I went into the city to have dinner with Anne, didn’t bring my camera but it was so great to catch up. Would be so lovely to live closer to each other.
I hope you guys have a great week! Ours will be mild and somewhat rainy apparently.
