Where the paperwork goes
The house folder

Eight dividers, one box file, and a rule about what gets thrown away. A house generates more paper than any other thing in it, most of it worthless and a small amount of it impossible to replace, and the two are always in the same drawer. This is how ours is split, which of it is worth keeping, and the one divider people forget: anything bought on finance. If a kitchen or a boiler went on an agreement, the paperwork belongs here rather than with the receipts, filed by the lender’s name, whether that is a bank, a retailer’s credit arm, or somewhere like Wandoo.
